"How long does the trip last?"Saltery Fishing is a full day of fun! You'll meet at a designated place in the city of Kodiak and depart shortly after around 7 AM. We're flexible on return time, typically between 4-5 PM. Road-System Fishing is fun and accessible. You'll meet at a designated place in Kodiak and depart at 7 AM. Also flexible on return time, your guide will have you back to town around 12 PM. At Kodiak Anglers, we know that everyone's experience is unique, and we want to make sure that your fishing excursion is tailored to your needs and preferences.

"Will we see bears and catch our limits of salmon?"At Kodiak Anglers, your safety is our top priority. If you encounter a bear while fishing, stay calm and listen to your guide's instructions. Your guide is trained to handle bear encounters and will take the necessary precautions to ensure your safety. It is important to never approach bears or try to feed them, as this can put you and the bear at risk. Your guide will ensure that you're fishing in the best possible location to safely experience Kodiak's wildlife in its natural habitat while being afforded every opportunity to hook into your target species. What we can promise is that our guides are experienced and equipped to handle any unexpected situations that may arise.

"What is supplied?"All transportation, fishing gear, and hip waders are supplied for Saltery and Road-System fishing trips. Lunches and non-alcoholic beverages are included with your Saltery trip at no extra cost to you. Please advise if you have any food allergies so we can better accommodate any dietary restrictions. With Kodiak Anglers, you can simply show up ready to fish and we will take care of the rest. Our experienced guides will provide you with everything you need for a successful and enjoyable day on the water.

"What should I bring?"Anglers are strongly encouraged to dress for the weather and unexpected weather. This means bringing layers, as temperatures can fluctuate throughout the day. Additionally, some guests find themselves getting wet while on the river chasing fish, so bringing a spare change of clothes is appropriate if you deem it necessary. Don't forget a hat and polarized sunglasses, which will protect your eyes from glare and help you see fish beneath the water's surface. Kodiak Anglers will provide all necessary fishing gear, including rods, reels, and hip waders. Finally, it's always a good idea to bring a personal water bottle and any snacks or medications you may need throughout the day.

We have partnered with the Kodiak Island Smokehouse, where you can choose from a range of processing options that include standard fillets as well as creative processing methods that the smokehouse has pioneered. You can rest assured that your fish will be processed and packaged with care by experts in the field. Plus, you don't have to worry about reinventing the wheel - thousands of guests come to Kodiak each year and successfully transport their fish home with them. So, whether you're a seasoned angler or a first-timer, you can look forward to enjoying the fruits of your labor and savoring the catch of the day at home!

"Do I need a fishing license?"Yes, you will be required to have a fishing license before embarking on your trip with Kodiak Anglers. You can purchase a fishing license from Walmart or Big Rays Sporting Goods, or you can purchase one online from the ADF&G online store. An electronic copy of your license will suffice. Please note that a King Salmon enhancement stamp is not necessary for this trip. Having a valid fishing license is not only a legal requirement, but it also helps to support conservation efforts, ensuring that our fish populations remain healthy for future generations to enjoy. "Do I get to drive my own four-wheeler?"No. Your guide will be operating the UTV ensuring your safe passage to and from the fishing destination for the day. At Kodiak Anglers, we prioritize safety and comfort for our clients, and our experienced guides will handle all necessary transportation during your trip. This allows you to fully relax and enjoy your fishing experience without worrying about navigating rough terrain or unfamiliar territory.

Booking & Cancellation PolicyA 50% deposit is due at the time of booking and will secure your desired date. Dates that are discussed, requested, or suggested are not finalized until a 50% deposit is secured. Cancellations made 30 days or more from the trip date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 30 days of the trip date forfeit their deposit. It is important to note that your guide will fish rain or shine. If you choose to cancel due to weather or encounter any other unforeseen circumstances, the deposit will not be refunded. We understand that sometimes things come up that are out of your control. Your guide may be able to reschedule your trip in the immediate future if vacancy allows, though this will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
